5 Tips to End the Semester Like a Boss
The heat has begun to creep into spring, summer travels are being finalized, and the days of sitting by poolside are near. Finals are also near along with moving back home for most and attempts to find summer activities or work. Some of the preparations may feel overwhelming on top of finals. Not to worry, here are a few tips to end this semester off on the right foot.
Plan ahead
If at all possible as soon as the dates, times, and locations for final exams become available put them in a calendar. Not a scratch piece of notebook paper that you will never look at again but somewhere you can see it. It’s not meant to scare you but for you to visually see how much time you have to prepare for the exams and to know where to go. You don’t want to be the person who shows up an hour late or the one entering an empty classroom because the exam is being taken somewhere else.
Next semester
This also includes thinking about your plans for the following semester. Registration for classes if you’re a returning student, living situation if you’re going away to school, and if you plan on transferring, studying abroad or interning. It may sound silly to even think about next semester when the current one hasn’t ended but it’s how you can stay prepared.
Start studying now
Some people do great when pulling all nighters for regular exams but you don’t have to sacrifice sleep to study. The best way to score decently is to study as early as possible using notes, PowerPoints, or textbooks. Not all professors have a study guide which is okay because you can build your own or use other resources such as Quizlet.com. This site has tons of study guides, index cards and reviews for most subjects.
Get ready to move out
If you live in a dorm now is a great time to begin putting away items that you’ll no longer use during the remainder of the semester. This is also a good time to mark when you’ll be required to move out so arrangements can be made accordingly.
Take care
It’s important that you put your mental and physical health first. Eat well, take study breaks and get at least seven hours of sleep
